Let’s end child hunger today

World Vision is thrilled to announce its partnership with KOVA International ahead of the release of new film, Cabrini, on 15th March - with previews in select cities on March 8th in celebration of International Women's Day and Mother's Day.

Based on a true story, the film portrays an Italian immigrant who arrives in New York City in 1889 and attempts to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable, using her entrepreneurial mind to build hope for those in need.

Francesca Cabrini - also known as Mother Cabrini - has been an inspiration and a pioneer for women throughout generations, and we're delighted that KOVA are supporting World Visionas we both believe in the incredible power of women and their ability to shape a brighter future.

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting this wonderful film," said Oonagh Dalton, Head of Partnerships.  "We were moved by this powerful story of Francesca Cabrini who supported those in need, bringing them dignity and a future. Just like Cabrini, we believe in doing what’s right - helping the world’s most vulnerable children experience fullness of life.”

World Vision believes gender equality is key to effective development, which is why it is perfectly suited to support Cabrini.

We fight for the rights of women and girls everyday, not just on one day.

12 million girls marry before the age of 18 every year. That’s 28 girls every minute.

At least 120 million girls under the age of 20 – about 1 in 10 – have also been forced to engage in sex or perform other sexual acts. And at least 200 million women and girls aged 15-49 have undergone Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in 30 countries where data is available.
